Modern Day Werewolves... my ass

Okay, so I was watching a little tv with the dogs and on comes a show about dogs. Yep, little ears perked and I yawned. It's all good. Or at least it was right up until the point they called dogs...

Modern Day Werewolves

Now besides the fact that I'm freaking insulted. I mean I'm one and I know some who I'd probably call DOGS, but werewolves are humanoid. Sheesh, DOGS are not part wolf--THEY ARE ALL WOLF. They just happen to be packaged up in pretty wrapping that comes in a variety of shapes and sizes.

But dogs are NOT human. NOT part human.

It's that misperception that screws dogs over, when their owners treat them like children or little people in fur coats. It just isn't right. Dogs have needs that are different from people. And while I'm on the rant, WTF is up with having vegitarian dog food? I mean for God's sake, they are carnivors. They eat meat. They CANNOT live on veggies.

Back to Modern Day Werewolves. After I flipped out and considered never watchign tv again, I calmed down and tried to figure out what they were trying to get across, besides the "part human" stupidity. I think it all comes down to helping humans relate to dogs. So here is my question: WHY CAN'T HUMANS JUST RESPECT OTHER SPECIES FOR WHAT THEY ARE? Why do they have to compare them to people to understand how to interact with them?

I deal with the communication barrier between people and dogs all the time and it all comes down to one fact. Dogs can't talk with their voices so they do it with their bodies. Body language can be jsuta s clear sometimes more clear than spoken words. Dogs that seem to get their people tend to have humans who unconsciously use body language that the dog understands.

Usually the key to helping any dog's behavior problem is to work with the people's behavior.
